The Brooklyn-based Jeff Faerber (1974) is an artist specialized in modern shunga whose work bares stylistic similarities to Egon Schiele although his protagonists make a more cheerful impression.
Striking is the use of colors, the humor and the fusion of ancient shunga aesthetics with contemporary elements. Also, the long descriptive titles are a real treat.
The magazine Dazed voted Faerber among their 10 all-time favorite erotic U.S. artists with illustrious names like Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, and Robert Mapplethorpe.
