Toshihide was a Japanese artist who designed woodblock prints and paintings in a Western-style like fashion. He studied ukiyo-e under Yoshitoshi and Western-style painting under Kunisawa Shinkuro. He is most well-known for his senso-e (war prints) in the triptych size which are considered to be influential cultural and historical documents to the First Sino-Japanese War and the Russo-Japanese War.
