Description

"A Butterfly dance (Kocho no mai) performer making love to a secret lover outside near a Buddhist temple.”

Their impulsiveness is emphasized by the female's lost geta (shoe) and the attributes laying behind them such as the lantern and the Shakujō Zen Buddhist staff. The six brass rings on the staff represent the Six Perfections that lead to nirvana.

This series also included the classic "Ninja rape" design.

Original antique Japanese color woodblock. Shunga (Erotic picture).
